In the hellscape that is 2020, popping THC gummy bears before virtually every endeavor is a legitimate, reasonable thing to do. But if you’re gonna do it, you might as well do it right, and that means dining on only the best THC gummies. To identify those, I asked Weedmaps cannabis culture expert Nicolas Juarez about his favorite cannabis-infused gummies for every activity, whether that be lounging on the couch or cleaning the house.
Before we jump into his suggestions, one thing you should know is that, even with our recommendations, you may have to do a bit of experimenting to figure out which THC gummy bears are suited for your unique cannabis needs. “It’s hard to recommend which weed gummies go well for which activity, because — no surprise here — we’re all so different,” Juarez explains. “What works for me might not work for you if we have different approaches to activities and have different weed customs. But if you know how you want to feel and what your limitations are, it’s definitely possible to find weed gummies that can help you do some of the more essential activities, like cleaning and binge-watching.”
With that, here are his recommendations…

The Best THC Gummy Bears for Binge-Watching
“Taking a couple weed gummies and bingeing a show is one of life’s easy joys,” Juarez says. “There really isn’t anything better than being stoned and getting lost and/or freaked out by Succession or Search Party. Since the goal is to get comfortable for a long time and just zone out the rest of the world, I’ll take 10 milligrams of THC, and my girlfriend will do maybe 15 milligrams of THC (she has a higher tolerance). I’ll take 5 milligrams first and see how I feel after a few episodes, then maybe take another 5 milligrams if it doesn’t feel like too much.”
His specific recommendations: “Kiva Confection has watermelon-lemonade-flavored gummies with 5 milligrams of THC. Deli also has gummies with 5 milligrams of THC.”
The Best THC Gummy Bears for Exercising
“I’m a runner, so I can’t have anything that’s going to impair me or make me feel intoxicated while I’m running, so I wouldn’t take a gummy before a run at all,” Juarez explains. “After a run, I’ll take a gummy with more CBD than THC. One milligram of THC is low enough that people with higher tolerances can probably take it before the exercise and not feel impaired in any way.” (CBD is an anti-inflammatory believed to help with muscle recovery.)
His specific recommendation: “PLUS has these gummies with 9 milligrams of CBD and 1 milligram of THC.”
The Best THC Gummies for Cleaning the House
“My partner and I just bought a house, something I never thought would happen for me, as a millennial,” says Juarez. “It’s been a ton of work, especially during the pandemic, and when we moved in, there was stuff just everywhere. Along with everything else, it made us feel incredibly stressed: It’s impossible to feel relaxed with clutter. Finding a gummy that can help take away some stress and maybe give a little bit of stoniness to improve my mood is what I think is ideal when cleaning the house. I’d try to look for something with equal amounts of THC and CBD. For me, a gummy with 5 milligrams of THC and 5 milligrams of CBD is perfect.”
His specific recommendation: “Kanha has 1:1 gummies with 5 milligrams of CBD and 5 milligrams of THC.”
And Finally, the Best Headspace for Taking THC Gummy Bears
If you try all of these cannabis-infused gummies and still feel like something’s missing, Juarez suggests doing some soul searching. “Really knowing how you want to physically and mentally feel during a given activity, and knowing your weed tolerance, are the two essentials to finding a good weed gummy experience,” he explains. “So much of using weed is psychological, and having a clear intent on what I want my experience to be is how I’ve been able to enjoy weed the most. They say it all the time in discussions about mushrooms: It’s all about ‘set and setting,’ so much so that it feels like a cliché. It’s obviously totally different — weed isn’t psychedelic and nowhere near as potent — but the more mindful you are about your headspace and physical space, the more likely you’ll have a good experience.”
In other words, if THC gummy bears aren’t helping you have a good time, it may have less to do with you finding the best cannabis-infused gummies and more to do with finding the best ways to ground yourself beforehand.
Good news: We can help you with that, too!
