Sometimes making a movie requires so much originality that’s there’s nothing left in the tank for the title. Take, for example, some of these inspired titles: Something’s Gotta Give, It’s Complicated and What Women Want. And that’s just the work of Nancy Meyers. But why pick on her? Tom Cruise is nearly as bad. Case in point: His biggest franchise, Mission: Impossible. It’s named after the mysterious governmental organization his character, Ethan Hunt, works for: the IMF, or the Impossible Mission Force, which, you know, is sent on impossible missions and stuff. (Get it?)
In honor of the latest installment in that series, Fallout, here’s a binge-worthy list of other movies with generic titles that are actually really good.
