For pretty much since the beginning of time, it appeared that only people with vaginas had the ability to squirt. But apparently, guys (and other people with penises) couldn’t allow them to retain such an advantage. In fact, it’s recently been confirmed by science that, like women, men can squirt as well, their dick heads making it rain with a fluid that appears to be entirely separate from cum. Similarly to what female urethras are thought to shoot, the liquid that launches out of penises when men squirt is more or less urine. (Though, the actual composition of female squirt is hotly debated.)
With online tutorials explaining how guys can execute the trick popping up, there’s also been a rise in video clips of dudes showing off their newfound skill. The way squirting works for guys is this: As they pump their johnson, à la masturbation, they switch gears and rub the palm of their hand in a circular motion around the very tip of their head. Just when you think they might cum, a lighter, clearer liquid squirts out instead. Some guys execute the squirt after they jizz, and we’re seeing footage online of women performing the act on male scene partners as well, taking their own palms and running them around the cockhead tips.
In a 2018 study out of the Kawasaki Medical School in Japan, doctors inserted an ultrasound probe into the rectum of a 25-year-old male volunteer subject who claimed he had the ability to penis squirt. The researchers were able to watch what happened inside the guy’s body while he performed his magic.
“Color Doppler ultrasonography recorded strong contraction of the prostate and pelvic striated muscles just before male squirting, and then the stream went from the urinary bladder through the prostatic urethra,” the researchers wrote in their report, which included multiple proud observances that it was the first true scientific study of male squirting ever recorded.
Their conclusion: “In male squirting, urine in the bladder gushes out from the external urethral orifice due to strong contraction of the prostate and pelvic striated muscles.”
We reported on this phenomenon previously, as rubbing the tip helps men, anxious in a public setting, to urinate. Though it’s unclear precisely why stimulating the penis in such a way triggers a man’s bladder-release reflex, that’s basically what’s going on.
“I had a major fetish of watching women do it,” says “Dave,” the 32-year-old Philadelphia man behind the Pornhub account powershower100, boasting a number of clips where he squirts. “I developed almost this jealousy. I was like, ‘Man, this is so crazy that these women can emit this huge stream — bigger than a guy ever could.’”
In Dave’s mind, when women squirt, it’s a “show of strength,” and porn footage of it motivated him to learn how to make his penis urethra act like a vagina urethra in a similar way. About eight or nine years ago, he says he did an internet search to find out if male squirting was possible and what an effective technique might be. Among the scant results, he found this post, with a step-by-step guide.
“I just kind of practiced it and practiced it, and eventually, I would notice an urge to pee while I was rubbing the tip,” Dave recalls. “And that eventually led to this ability to actually spray something out. I felt like I had discovered a superpower.”
Those rounds of practice prior to perfection lasted a couple months, the pleasure a more psychological one than physical, since it’s not an orgasm. He shot a video of the act, but waited until 2016 before posting any such content online. When he finally did, he says he received a number of “positive responses” that fueled him to publish more clips. Now, he says online videos of his squirting have collectively garnered over a million views, and more men are joining him in the pursuit.
“I’m so into it that I track it,” Dave says, admitting that he is “probably spending too much time” on Pornhub and other platforms, but he has observed a jump in male squirting videos. “If you compare this to what I saw when I first looked for it, it’s like night and day,” he says.
He has revealed to more open-minded male friends of his that he possesses this talent to squirt. They’ve found it intriguing, but, to his knowledge, have never tried to squirt themselves. A few female partners of Dave’s have been informed of his squirting, too, seeing his videos. Their reactions landed on or someplace between “Wow, that’s sexy” and “I don’t know what I’m watching.” His current girlfriend, whom he lives with and predicts will one day be his wife, prioritizes cleanliness in her world. “There’s no pay off; it just makes a mess, that’s it,” Dave says, summarizing her perspective. Still, she dutifully participates in his squirting and pee fetish — standing next to him in the shower while they do it together — though she isn’t sexually aroused by it.
“For it to really be a thrill for me, it has to make a mess, and there has to be that You’re-not-supposed-to-do-this-here aspect to it for me,” Dave tells me. “My fantasy would be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a girl and peeing on the floor or squirting on the wall, just doing something naughty together.”
Referencing his long-term partner, he adds, “I think we will get there.”
