Remember how annoying 2016 was? All those celebrity deaths. Brexit. That other strange election here. By July, Slate even asked if 2016 was the worst year in history. Meanwhile, the Universe or God or Elvis simply shrugged. And so, in 2017, an even more daunting news cycle emerged.
