This weekend Tom Hardy stars in Venom. That’s pretty clear, right? Because here’s what’s usually not: Hardy. That is, he’s a man of many accents—almost all of which are unintelligible, or at the very least, require subtitles. Yet all of the noises he makes serve a purpose: Namely, Hardy has the amazing ability to make his voice somehow match the overall tone and style of movie he’s in—from The Revenant to Bronson to The Dark Knight Rises (but of course). So for this episode of The Weekend Binge, I take a look at every one of those crazy, nearly impossible-to-understand Hardy accents. Be ready to listen very, very closely.
